The Leon County Retired Teachers Association met at noon on Wednesday, October 24 at the Municipal building in Centerville. Lunch was served by Verdine H. Perry and Mae Wagner. The tables were decorated with pumpkins and fall leaves. For the November meeting everyone attending is asked to bring a covered dish for the luncheon.  More...
Funeral services for Jean Burk, age 78, of Centerville, and formerly of Coldwater, Michigan, were held 2 P.M., Monday, November 12, 2018 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pastor Tim Carter, of Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas, officiated the service. Interment will follow in the Centerville Cemetery.  More...

The Lady Bison defeated New Waverly and Waco Meyer to open the basketball season. The first game of the season was against New Waverly on November 6th. The Lady Bison took the long trip to New Waverly but enjoyed the game as they won 39-33. New Waverly led 9-8 after the first quarter and had a 23-20 at half time.  More...
